I took this image on my cruise back in April 2015. The image has a composition of line from the white lines going across the red funnels and the white lines from the railings. The distance background and POV are all significant because it shows how large the ship is in size and how far back the image can go, and showing how big the ocean goes back on both sides, and goes way beyond it. The shutter speed was fast, and the lighting and white balance was on daylight from the sun reflection on funnels, even with the few clouds in the sky. I picked the image because i liked the lighting of the image and it makes it a very interesting picture.
This image was taken in EL Yunque National Rainforest in Puerto Rico near San Juan, and it is a waterfall on a few hour trek through the rainforest. For this image, rule of thirds was used as the waterfall is the focal point s the trees and the leaves cave into the top of the waterfall. The POV is on a rock at the beginning of the lake the waterfall flows into that you can stand on, and the picture was take off to the side showing the waterfall to the left. The image is in clear and full focus, showing a fast shutter speed. I liked this image because it brings back memories from my vacation with my family and neighbors and the image is very clear and it looks like you are standing there.
I took this image at Disneyland California Adventure Park in July last summer. I took this picture while going down a curved ramp in the park and I liked how the picture is framed and how the coaster shows leading lines and even leading lines inside the ferris wheel going in different directions. The picture is in a fast shutterspeed because the image is in focus, with a large depth of field also. I like the point of view in this picture because it looks like it goes beyond the coaster and shows different aspects of the park.
This image was taken in NYC in December of 2016. The point of view of this image is looking up at all of the electronic billboards, and the rule of thirds is shown because all the billboards are being shown in different places, catching your eye going all around the image. The white balance in this is sunny. and the blue sky in the background can show exposure to Times Square. The mood can make you feel maybe busy because NYC is very busy city, or it could make you just want to stop and read all of the advertisements/billboards on buildings.
I took this picture during the painting with light unit this year. In this image, positive and negative space are shown because of the dark background being the negative and the name written in light being the positive. The spacing in this is shown because the background is very large showing they had a lot of room. It is fast shutterspeed because of the focus in the image and there is not lighting shown, only lighting is the letters. I selected this work because it is my name written by a flash light that was captured by an image.
In this image taken outside of the school in the beginning of the school year. The rule of thirds is shown by the leaves off to the right and the building off to the left. The distance to the tree is very close, but the building that is shown is clear to be farther away. Focus in this is on the leaves, leaving the building in a blur, with the white balance on sunny, since it was outdoors. I selected this work because it was one of my favorite images i have taken this year and i like how the school is blurred in the back and the leaves are in clear focus.
